DRIVING GROWTH

DRIVING GROWTH THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS, BUILDING BUSINESSES, OR ACQUIRING ASSETS

Health systems increasingly need new sources of top line growth as the current reality for healthcare organizations is not sustainable. Healthcare providers are experiencing increased pressure from declining reimbursements, higher expectations from customers, a changing and more competitive landscape, new players entering the healthcare ecosystem, and the transformation caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Healthcare organizations can achieve growth horizontally, vertically, or through alignment with non-healthcare sectors.

  • Horizontal growth requires doing “more” of the same type of business, gaining market share and broadening the market.

  • Vertical growth will expand the footprint across the continuum of healthcare from pre-prevention services to outpatient, acute care, post-acute, skilled nursing, assisted living, hospice, and home health.

  • Alignment with non-healthcare sectors by providing healthcare services across industries (for example: Doing testing and healthcare delivery on cruise ships)
