A Few Thoughts from Our Chief Medical Officer

Data from the Centers for Disease Control confirms what we suspected early on in the COVID19 crisis -- immunocompromised individuals have accounted for approximately 90% of related hospitalizations and deaths.   The most common underlying conditions include hypertension, obesity, diabetes, lung disease and renal disease.

At Precise Telehealth, I am happy to share we have dedicated nurses specializing in providing telehealth services specifically tailored to individuals with these high risk conditions.  At the onset of the COVID19 crisis, our nurses proactively reached out to their patients to ensure they had sufficient supplies of medication at home to forestall unnecessary trips outside the safety of their homes.  In the last few weeks, our nurses have successfully interceded on behalf of dozens of patients in order to prevent unnecessary visits to emergency room thereby reducing their risk of exposure.  And as anxiety and isolation has spread with the pandemic, our nurses have gone the extra mile to be available to care for all of our patients during their time of greater need.  We are really proud of how our health care providers have stepped up when their own lives have been so dramatically disrupted.

There is wide recognition that as a country, we were not well prepared to respond to the unprecedented COVID19 pandemic in spring 2020.  But as the bold actions in communities across America has demonstrated, we know how to rally together to respond to a crisis.  Our hope is that the crisis has helped convince more patients, physicians and insurance companies to try telehealth in the future.

Because we have been successfully providing telehealth in partnership with physician groups in local communities, we have solutions, tested by thousands of patient encounters, to serve COVID19 patients from their homes, to manage patients demonstrating symptoms but not yet diagnosed as well as chronic care management for individuals from high risk groups.  If you are from a physician group and want to learn more about these solutions to become better prepared in the future please email us at ….. for more information.  Or simply visit “how we do it” on our website to learn more.

Once again, thank you to the nurses and providers at Precise Telehealth and to all of the healthcare providers across the country for your service.

Sincerely,

Martin Linker, MD
